Fiery Fried Shrimp

Ingredients:

2 egg whites
1 tablespoon water
1/3 cup cornmeal
1/3 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound small peeled and deveined shrimp
1/2 cup flour
vegetable oil

Directions:
Mix together egg whites and water in a small bowl. Combine cornmeal, flour, cayenne pepper, salt, chili powder and black pepper in a separate bowl. Blot dry shrimp and dredge through flour, a few at a time, in a shallow dish. Dip shrimp in egg white mixture and then dredge in cornmeal mixture. Fry a few at a time in 2 inches vegetable oil until golden, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
