Charbonneau Chili

Ingredients:

1 large onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 cans kidney beans (4 cups)
1 large can tomatoes (4 cups)
2 16 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 - 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf

Directions:

Brown onion, pepper and meat in a little hot oil. Add kidney beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt and bay leaf. Cover. Simmer 1 1/2 hours adding water if necessary. 

Notes or Special Instructions:

Can be cooked in the pressure cooker for 1/3 the cooking time.
