We were enchanted when we first saw your dogs in their T-shirts.  We have a pair of boxer cross mutts that we love dearly.  However it sure gets busy aboard our IP27 when the whole gang is aboard!

Hey you guys!
Love the site. If you are ever in Wyoming on your motorcycles, stop at the Subway in Greybull and let me feed you! We have been talking about liveaboard for two years, looking up info and dreaming about boats...especially in the Wyoming Winters!
Keep having fun

Lynn and I live in Fuquay-Varina, NC just around the corner from Willow Springs, I believe your home town. In 1995 we sold our Pan Oceanic 43 due to the kids getting ready for college and the boat needing some tlc which did not make sense during that time. Now that the kids are pretty much on their way, we are looking again for a good cruising boat for our next stage in life in the 40ft range. We had our boat for 16yrs lived aboard for 4yrs in San Francisco before being transferred by my company Raychem to this area. I enjoyed learning about your adventures, especially your family members the dogs as we have a Cairn Terrier and West Highland Terrier who would go with us when we find our boat.
If you get a chance, send a note and we will keep looking at your site.
Fair Winds Astern,
Grant & Lynn Truesdale

My boyfriend and are are going to be making the trip through the Bahamas this summer with my 60lb pit-bull, Beau. For Beau and I this will be a first. Thank you so much for you info on sailing with pets.  One question. When you talked about the "Import Permit" to the Bahamas you said the health certificate has to be dated less than 48 prior to your arrival. I sure hope you mean 48 days. Could you clarify that for me?
Thanks again, Cheryl & Beauregard

Editors Note -- Sorry, it really is 48 hours.

Great website. I've printed all your articles to use in our planning and research for our liveaboard lifestyle in the next few years. It's nice to hear from first-hand experience what works and what doesn't.  Don't know if our 14 yr old lab will still be with us when we venture out, but I'm happy to see that traveling with pets is doable.  If you guys make it down to Merritt Island on  the ICW, look us up.  As Mark Twain once said "Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails.  Explore. Dream. Discover."

Hi Crew, Been reading your web site, very inspiring, my goal is to retire to a power catamaran (Lagoon 43) on the 1st May 2006, just me and my partner Lorraine, its huge goal for us as we cant even sail as yet!! Never owned a boat, been on a sailing course but fancy a motor boat around the med, then maybe the Caribbean. Only ever e-mailed one other boat after reading their story, but just feel i have to e-mail you to say how informative a interesting i found your site, not to mention funny in parts, you definitely have a knack at putting words down on paper very well, i absolutely detest reading (i read very well but hate it) but have read every inch of you site, and some bits twice!! I tend to ramble on when i,am writing about something that holds my interest, so sorry if this is a bit boring, i was 45 this month, so will be 47 when "IT" happens, until then can only "dream" of my future living on a boat, Don't know how this is all going to pan out when it happens, its going to be a very very steep learning curve for us, but that's part of the adventure as i see it. Keep on writing as i have got 2 years to fill, will keep on reading your site and "dreaming". Bye, Chris.

Hello,
I love the photos and stories about your dogs.  I attempted to e-mail you directly, but problem with my e-mail.  I am wondering if perhaps you folks would know of an alternative to air travel for dogs.  We are looking to travel from U.S. to India (a semipermanent move) with two dogs and have not been able to locate a cruise or freighter line that will allow dogs.  Any suggestions?  There must be some alternative to air travel for them!!

Hope that you can help.

Great website!!

My wife and I have been reading your site on and off for 2+ years now. We just wanted to say that it is a wonderful, informative and inspiring website. We've even started Sailing because of it and love it. We hope you are both okay since there has been no new news for a while. Keep safe and enjoy your journey.
