Very hip site! I have dreamed of doing what you are doing since I was 15 years old. Now, at 27, I am almost at the point where I can join you on the high seas. Keep us posted and, of course, inspired!

God bless ~

Hey Blaine and Janet, I don't know how I came across the web site but it brought back some fun times. Can you believe it was way over a year ago we sailed down from Nova Scotia. Just thought I'd drop a line. Hope the charity is or has gone well. Ciao for now!

Love your site! I am nine years away from the "magic 80" and am in the process of saving for the same dream for my retirement. I have about a billion questions regarding the necessities to plan for, but am still far away, however, should you ever want to advise... Thank you for taking the time to share, John.

Nice website-love the photos. I used to live in VA and I was looking up info to verify if George Washington actually built the canal in VA-NC.

Loved your site and particularly your photos of Maine.  We and o ur 32 foot Pearson moved from Maine in the fall of '94 and miss it terribly.  We'v sinced sailed Phoebe in the Apostle Islands for a couple of years and since 1998, here in the Chesapeake.  The Apostles were wonderful, and the Chesapeake is good, but nothing can compare to Penobscot Bay...fog and all. We are now on Phoebe II, a 36-foot Catalina MKII and hope some day to sail "back home"/

Be safe and have a grand time on the hogs this next year.

Thanks again,

Estelle

Thanks for the site...for the stories and all the tips.

We are Salty Paws, Jim and Bentley, and we loved your section on dog friendly anchorages. We have two Welsh Corgies, and are in Governor's Harbor, slowly exploring north though the Abacos, then up to Washington DC by August.

All best, Jim

Wow,

What a great web site and even better story. It's May 3 and were still getting snow in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  We will be in the water with our 43' River Queen within a few weeks. The snow and ice destroyed all 50 docks at our home base River Haven Marina.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story, it gives us the ability to keep on dreaming for the day when we shove off on a similar voyage!

Keep dry,

Blaine and Janet,

What an entertaining and informative website!

My husband and I are preparing for the same dream beginning early 2007.  We have taken our first sailing lessons and gathering as much information as possible for living aboard.  Thanks for all of your tips.  We are planning to buy our first IP in about a year (if we can wait that long).

I see there are no updates for some time on your website. Hope all is well with ya'll and Max and Bailey.  What great buddies!

Good luck with your writing.  No naysays from here.

Located your site when I did a "search" for Disneyworld pictures. My wife (sue), son (Chuck Jr.) and myself are going on a Disney 4-day Cruise and 3 days at Disneyworld in August. I work for Northrop Grumman in Illinois and hopefully getting ready to retire. You sound like you've got a pretty terrific life goin' there.  Hope you keep adding items to your website, I'll be checking back. Have a wonderful life!!!!!

I was looking up family tree info and accidentally found your website. Wonderful!!! Your dream come true!! Anyway, just curious where this Charbonneau family grew up and if you are related to any Monettes, as that is who I am doing my research on.

Hope your journey is a pleasant one.

Absolutely spectacular!  I enjoyed the stories of your dog's antics aboard.  This year was my 80lb Chesapeake Bay Retriever's ("Kai")first time cruising.  He loved it and I loved having him along.  I can't wait to use some of your tips.  A fellow mariner in our area (Gulf Islands, BC Canada) lost his dog overboard while sailing at night.  It made me second guess having "Kai" onboard, but thanks to your safety and emergency ideas I can't wait to set sail again.  Thanks for the website.

Splendid site. Saw your artikel about doggy overboard maneuver. The watchleader on our ship ( A Bavaria 32 ) is our Jack Russell Terrier called Russell.
He claims to be a warrant officer:.)  We bought a doggy lifejacket for him with a huge handle on top of it, so we can incase he goes overboard use a hook to hoist him back on board again.  He loves wearing it, specially in cold weather.

Enjoyed meeting you in Elizabeth City.  We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and moonset leaving Elizabth City NB to Dismal Swamp.  Thanks for the great info on pet friendly Bahamas.  I already downloaded my pet permit applications for Alfie our bassethound and Olive our cat.  Hope to see you there this winter.  Your website is the BEST!
