AmericanRoverCatching.jpg (139450 bytes)AmericanRoverPassing.jpg (142571 bytes)
As we sailed into Norfolk, we not only caught up with the American Rover, we passed her!  Not bad for a 'slow' Island Packet.  (9/21/02)
NorfolkCapeAnnTugs.jpg (125505 bytes)NorfolkCapeAnnSailboat.jpg (151216 bytes)
The Cape Ann gets a little help as she comes through a Norfolk bridge.  The small sailboat in the foreground of the picture on the right was motoring as fast as they could to avoid being in Cape Ann's path. (9/22/02)
NorfolkDaysail1.jpg (195114 bytes)NorfolkDaysail2.jpg (202021 bytes)
We caught up with our friends Ed, Patty, and their son Andy for a daysail in Norfolk.  Andy was a big hit with the dogs! (9/22/02)
DeepCreekDogPlay1.jpg (201450 bytes)DeepCreekDogPlay2.jpg (243978 bytes)
Janet supervises some dog play while we wait for the Deep Creek Lock.  Lockmaster Kay has a great job where she can bring her dogs to work.  Max and Bailey enjoyed the time off with new friends. (9/23/02)
RefrigerationRepair2.jpg (144199 bytes)RefrigerationRepair1.jpg (163435 bytes)RefrigerationRepair3.jpg (172638 bytes)
Blaine missed most of the Dismal Swamp Canal on our way south.  He was enjoying an upside-down repair job on our refrigerator.  It decided to not work that day, but turned out to only need new brushes.  Luckily, we had spares. (9/23/02)
AlbemarleBlaineBailey.jpg (172919 bytes)
Blaine reminisces on our short summer in the Chesapeake as we get closer to home, making our way across the Albemarle Sound.   (9/24/02)
AlbelmarleBaileySnoozing.jpg (200052 bytes)
Bailey does his own reminiscing, or maybe he's just dreaming of getting back to more coconuts and sandy beaches this winter.  (9/24/02)
WashingtonNCDocks.jpg (90694 bytes)
Charbonneau tied up to the new boardwalk and free docks in Washington, NC (10/04/02)

Mike Stocum and Blaine take a day's sail from Washington, NC to Bath, NC.  Mike was the best man at our wedding. Doesn't he looks like a natural behind the helm? (10/04/02)
BathMarkerAndMarina.jpg (117874 bytes)
The view of Bath Harbor, historic home of Edward Teach, AKA Blackbeard,  on our way in.

The delivery crew, with Ed Kurowski at the helm, enjoy a little snack underway.  Bob (right) shows how relaxing the rear seat can be.
IP485BlaineJanetMaxBailey.jpg (151206 bytes)IP485MaxBailey.jpg (91793 bytes)
Our crew visits the IP485 for a 'dog sizing'.  Unfortunately, the cockpit was too small for our family (right).  We'll postpone our purchase until a future date.
