The Annual Rock
Hall, MD Island Packet Rendezvous always includes a circular raft-up of
the attending boats (9/02/01)
The annual event
also includes intense water fights inside the raft-up. (9/02/01)
Bill Bolin and
Earl Blackwell of Island Packet team up with Ed Kurowski to attack the
raft-up from outside. Pretty sneaky! (9/02/01)
Our
friends on Ishmael declared war early on Charbonneau. Tom takes
aim with his wash-down pump (top left) while Kathy from Packet Inn uses
buckets and her long range water gun. (9/02/01)
Ishmael's
'Admiral', Pat, safely sits on the bow to avoid the mayhem.
(9/02/01)
Karsten Johnson
(Island Packet) and Michele Martinage (our friend and broker from
Gratitude Yachting Center) put on their game faces and prepare for
battle. (9/02/01)
A first for this
year's Island Packet Rendezvous was the formation of the Island Packet
Oval and Star by Rendezvous participants. You can easily find the
Charbonneau crew on the right side of the picture -- look for two golden
retrievers :-) (9/01/01)
We enjoyed some
terrific sunsets in Rock Hall while we completed repairs after our
lightening strike (9/16/01)
Blaine returns
from a trip to town to refill the propane tanks. Looks like a
propane powered bike! (9/24/01)
Charbonneau gets
a new radar installed as part of our lightening repairs. Cal from
Big Electronics climbs our arch to replace the radome while Mark
replaces damaged equipment on top of Charbonneau's mast. (10/4/01)
Read the complete story of our lightening strike and subsequent repairs
in our Living Aboard section.
In case you
haven't seen Island Packet's latest entry in the boating market, here is
the PacketCraft 360 Express. We posted a picture of the PacketCraft
earlier (in their trademark Island Packet beige). We have to say
that this paint job really adds to the look. (10/6/01)
Meet Hugh and
Mary-Jean Watson. We met these two while we were repairing
Charbonneau in Rock Hall. They own an Island Packet 40 (HUMA) and
were also in Rock Hall for lightening repairs. They're heading south
for the winter and we look forward to seeing them often in our travels.

We took our annual trip out to visit Janet's brother and
sister-in-law in Arkansas. Sure looks like a tropical beach
doesn't it? Just another lazy day picnic at the Lake.
