We caught up
with one of Blaine's friends from his high school years, Michele
Killian. Here's a picture of Michele and her husband, Eric, aboard
'Charbonneau.'

Blaine's high
school home economics class is paying off aboard 'Charbonneau'.
Blaine and Janet re-stitch the Genoa while in port. (7/15/01)

Wayne, Amy, &
Ryan Goodman join us for a visit aboard 'Charbonneau'. (7/14/01)

While visiting
our friends, Stuart and Cindy Williams, we found a new marina that we'll
come back to again and again. Southhall Landing Marina at Salt
Ponds is worth a visit. Inexpensive with more than the normal
amenities. (7/17/01)

We were delayed
in Norfolk while waiting for a weather window to sail to Block Island --
Just our luck there was a Reggae Festival at the nearby Towne Point Park!

Aaron poses for
a picture while standing watch on his first offshore trip (Norfolk-Block
Island) (7/23/01)

Blaine threw out
a line looking for lunch and pulled in this small Mahi-Mahi. We
caught it around 10:30 and were having grilled Mahi for lunch by noon!

After motoring
almost 57 hours across a calm sea, we were greeted by dense fog as we
approached Block Island. Can you see Block Island in this
picture? It's out there and very close! The fog made for an
exciting entrance. (7/24/010

A few shots from
Block Island. The first is of Boat Basin Marina. The second
and third are sunset shots with the Coast Guard Station in the
background.

Not all of our
time in Block Island was with calm weather and lovely sunsets.
Here we are taking the dogs to shore in strong winds and a choppy
harbor. Good thing the dogs don't care much about fashion!

Two of Rhode
Island's light houses that we passed on our way from Block Island to
Newport. Point Judith Light is on the left. Rose Island
Light on the right. (7/27/01)

Some more
friends, Patrick and Mary Ann Tormey, join us in Newport for a fun
day of sailing. The day and their visit were absolutely perfect!
