We got a rare
glimpse of a nuclear submarine leaving the King's Bay submarine base
near Cumberland Island. (11/26/02)
St. Mary's, Georgia
is a special place. Not only is the town beautiful, its citizens
are warm and friendly. So much so that they invited all the
cruisers in for a pot-luck Thanksgiving Dinner. It was their
2nd Annual Cruiser's Thanksgiving.
Charbonneau
anchored in front of the fort in St. Augustine, FL. (12/2/02)

Municipal Marina with the historic Bridge of Lions in the background

On our way
offshore from St. Augustine to Ft. Pierce - 30 hours of sailing bliss.
(12/3/02)
The first catch
on our trip south - a fair size Little Tunny. (12/2/02)
There are lots
of sunsets offshore. Today's was spectacular. (12/2/02)
We were a
'Charbonneau sandwich' in Vero Beach. Up to 3 boats raft to each
mooring ball. Vero is a great place to stop, but don't get
stuck. Everything is so convenient that they call it 'Velcro Beach'.

It's good to
be warm. Janet enjoys her first winter's swim and outside shower
while we are anchored off Rodriguez Key, near Key Largo.
(12/12/02)
It
wouldn't be the Florida Keys without a few boats left abandoned or run
up into the mangroves. This jewel was high and dry near Upper
Matecumbe.
(12/15/02)
One of our
favorite stops in the Keys is Islamorada and the friendly Lor-e-lei
restaurant/bar. Top is a view of Lor-e-lei's from the water.
The bottom two are sunset views from Lor-e-lei's. Imagine us with
cold drinks in our hands.
(12/18/02)
I know some
of you couldn't imagine us with those frosty cold drinks - so here is what
Janet looks like with one :-)
