What do sailors do
when they return to shore for an extended stay? During our annual
pilgrimage to Janet's brother and sister-in-law's home, we went to see
the outhouse races in Mountain View, Arkansas. They take their
outhouses seriously! Just kidding.
One of the
best ways to see Fall colors is on a Harley Davidson. Here are some photos
from a few rides we enjoyed while in Arkansas. Perhaps a Harley
ride across the country is in our future.
Here's what our cockpit looked like after unloading the van with all our
stuff from our land travels and also some boat show purchases. I'm
not sure we'll ever get it all put away.
Here's how Max & Bailey spent their time waiting for us to unload
the van. They take all our travels in stride.
Janet poses for
her annual "It's too damn cold" photo.
Blaine enjoys a
wet and miserable day in the ICW as we move south through North Carolina
(11/11/02)
Here's a little
hitchhiker we picked up along the way.
What do cruisers
do when it's cold outside? We went ice skating with our friends from
Triana Marie on a cold day in Charleston (11/17/02)
We spent some
extra time in Charleston. Blaine was installing our new water maker
and Janet did some provisioning. Here's how the boat looked during
all that work -- a complete disaster!
After a short
overnight passage from Charleston to St. Mary's Inlet, we were greeted by
Fort Clinch on our way to Cumberland Island. (11/25/02)
Cumberland
Island, Georgia provided a chance to walk along tropical trails and sandy
beaches - the warm weather encourages us to move further south. (11/26/02)
Here are some
pictures of the old Carnegie Dungeness Estate on Cumberland Island.
We can only imagine how impressive this property was in its prime.
