Our friends on
'Lucky Bear' motor-sail in the large swells a few days before Hurricane
Isabel reached land. (9/16/03) |

Most cruisers
find a bird hitch-hiker at some point in their travels. We believe
that we are the first, however, to pick up a bat in mid-passage.
This little guy came in for a rest from the heat as we were offshore from
Sandy Hook, NJ to the Delaware Bay. The picture isn't great, but
getting closer than this was impossible underway. (9/24/03)

Sunset over
Atlantic City, NJ on our passage from Sandy Hook to Delaware Bay.

The Ship John
shoal Light welcomes us to the Delaware Bay (9/25/03) |

The
Chesapeake-Delaware Canal connects the two bays at their northwestern
ends. Not very dramatic in beauty, but a great way to jump right
into the northern Chesapeake Bay from offshore. (9/25/03) |

A view of Spring
Cove Marina in Rock Hall, MD. Blaine had to make a trip up the
mast to work on the wind indicator and took these shots while he was
hanging around up there. (9/27/03) |

We arrived in
Rock Hall just in time for their annual Fall Festival. (9/27/03) |

Music is a major
theme at the festival. The Cantonsville High School Steel Band put
us in a tropical mood while the Chester Swing Band gave us some big-band
sounds. (9/27/03) |

Dan Gabor gets a
lesson in milking a goat at the Fall Festival (left). His parents,
Sharon and Jeff, must be so proud (right). Their daughter, Claire,
was missing-in-action most of the day. (9/27/03) |

There's nothing
like a good dock party to bring boaters together. This one is on
the dock in Rock Hall, MD. (photos courtesy of Hayden Cochran)

Max and Bailey
pose for the camera -- they think Hayden has food for them :-)
(9/27/03) |

We don't take
enough pictures with us in them. Sometimes I wonder if anyone
believes we've been all these places when we aren't in the photos.
