Baddeck -- one of
the largest towns on the Bras d'Or Lakes. (9/3/03)
Janet rests
outside the very interesting Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck.

Our friends,
Dave and Jane Lundin, joined us aboard Charbonneau for a visit in Baddeck.
Dave helped us move the boat south back to St. Peters on a rainy day --
our first on the way home. (9/4/03)
Exiting the Bras
d'Or Lakes via the St. Peters Canal. This is their small swing
bridge (9/8/03)
Charbonneau tied
up to the St. Peter's Lock waiting our turn to be released into St.
Peter's Bay, the first step of our way home. (9/8/03)
Navigation is a
very serious thing in Nova Scotia. A miscalculation and you could
find yourself running over breaking ledges like this one near Canso --
Washball Ledge. (9/8/03)
The famous
Peggy's Cove Light. The little specks which cover the rocks aren't
birds, they're tourists -- almost as bad, huh? (9/9/03)
Janet and the
dogs contemplate a future summer cottage here on Little Tancook.

A postcard-type
picture of the beautiful town of Chester. (9/10/03)
Blaine enjoys
the view from Charbonneau's bow as we make the 2 1/2 day passage from
Nova Scotia back to Massachusetts. (9/13/03)
We saw a few
whales on our Nova Scotia trip this year, but this one was most peculiar
in his actions. He would just poke the tip of his fin from the water
and then slowly sink down before doing it again. Since we only saw
his fin --- he must be a fin whale, right? :-) (9/13/03)
Janet completes
another hourly entry in our logbook. She wasn't happy about having
her photo taken after being offshore with no showers for a couple
days. I told her she looked beautiful -- *snicker* (9/14/03)
We had a friend
join us for a ride across to Massachusetts -- Michelle Lundin, the
daughter of our good friends on Romana. (9/14/03)
This photo won't
do much for you, but the first sight of land -- Provincetown in this case
-- is always a sight to celebrate after a long offshore passage. (9/14/03)
Michelle joins
us for a Charbonneau tradition when we've been away from the US for a bit
-- a trip to a local McDonalds. (9/15/03)
