Charbonneau lies at
anchor at the mouth just north of Belhaven, North Carolina. We're
finally on our way north after too many repairs and delays.

We never really
enjoy 'digging the ditch' (motoring up the ICW), but this particular
morning brought some beautiful colors. (6/23/03)
Bailey shares a
kiss with Janet on a sunrise cruise up the Pasquotank River. (6/24/03)
The air was so
still that the waters of the Pasquotank River reflected like a perfect
mirror. (6/24/03)
Charbonneau
plows through water the color of coffee on our way to the Dismal Swamp
Canal (6/24/03)
Exiting the
Chesapeake Bay on a hazy afternoon, bound for Sandy Hook, NJ -- a two-day
offshore sail. (6/27/03)
Sunset on our
second day offshore was spectacular. (6/28/03)
Fog complicated
our passage from Sandy Hook to New York City. The West Bank Light
(seen with its light shrouded by fog) helped guide our way. (6/30/03)
The lighthouse
in the previous picture was a welcome sight. This HUGE tanker coming
at us was not. (6/30/03)
For one brief
moment, the fog lifted to show off the remains of Fort Wadsworth on
Staten Island. (6/30/03)
Even in the fog,
Lady Liberty is still my (Blaine) favorite landmark, offering a warm
welcome and a symbol of freedom to arriving boats. (6/30/03)
The best deal in

increased their priced to $25 per night, but where else can you stay in
NYC for that price.. (7/1/03)
Max and Bailey
enjoy the dog runs in Riverside Park, adjacent to the 79th Street Boat
Basin. (7/6/03)
The dog run even
has a small pool to help the dogs cool off. (7/6/03)
The security for
crowds on the Fourth of July remind us that it's no longer the safe world
we remember. (7/4/03)
