We visited Fort
McHenry on the Anniversary weekend of the "Defense of Fort
McHenry" against the British.

Janet joins
ranks with the defenders of Fort McHenry. Not quite a government
issue uniform! :-)

The flag at Fort
McHenry as Francis Scott Key would have seen it aboard the US truce ship
in September 1812, when he was inspired to write down the poem that
later became our "Star Spangled Banner" 9/9/00

On our way again
-- Here we are navigating into the Chester River, MD 9/10/00

Days like this
remind us why we are taking the time. Sun is about to dip behind
Eastern Neck Island at the mouth of the Chester 9/10/00

Welcome to
Chestertown, MD. A historic town with incredible charm. We
spent a week here -- we only planned to spend a night or two! 9/13/00

Charbonneau
safely anchored in Chestertown. 9/13/00

Max doing what
he loves most -- FRISBEE! Chestertown has a beautiful waterfront
park where Max & Bailey got their daily Frisbee time. 9/13/00
|

Bailey is more
likely to chew on his Frisbee than to catch it. Here he is doing a
little of both. Below, Max takes a well deserved break.

Cacaway Island,
MD. A small private island set up as a nature preserve -- good
anchoring too! 9/15/00
|

Jan spotted a
Snowy Egret when we first arrived at Cacaway Island. She also
spotted several Blue Herons and Eagles. 9/15/00
