Blaine tries his
luck (or lack of luck) fishing on a day trip from Green Turtle Cay (1/25/02)
|

Having polarized
sunglasses in the islands is a must. The picture on the left shows
how the underwater reef looks without polarized glasses. The
one on the right, with polarized glasses, shows the differing colors and especially the brown
section, indicating a reef JUST below the surface! (1/25/02)
|

Here's another shot of the reefs we were fishing behind. Without
good sunglasses you'd never find your way out before ending up on top of
one of those reefs. (1/25/02)

Sunrise over the anchorage at Baker's Bay, Guana Cay Abacos.

Not every day of a cruiser's life is spent relaxing. Today was
laundry day in the islands. We got it all washed, but it didn't
dry so well. So, we turned 'Charbonneau' into Chinese
laundry. How'd you like to have us for neighbors! :-)

Relaxing (again) at Nipper's Beach Bar on Guana Cay with our friends
Norm and Ami Carroll (Mon Ami). We both left NC in 1999 and we
caught up with them here. The shot on the right is of Nippers from
the beach. (1/26/02)

This seaplane belongs to the Miami Dolphins. It came roaring in
and landed right next to us at Guana Cay. We gave the pilots a
ride to the dock in our dinghy. Nice perk if you can play
football, huh? (1/27/02)
|

We found this house on Guana Cay. This is exactly the kind of
place that would bring me off the boat and back onto land. Very
tropical! (1/27/02)

Meet some of the Bahamian wildlife. Friendly looking fellow..

Checking email
in the Bahamas is interesting. First we have to find a working
phone (not easy) and then use our PocketMail device. Laptop
connections cost upwards of $2.00 per minute! YIKES!

Little Harbour
was a nice place to wait for weather before crossing to the Eleuthera
area. That's Charbonneau anchored just behind the stern of the
dinghy. (2/9/02)

Two of the main
attractions in Little Harbour. The infamous out of the way bar and
grill, Pete's Pub (left) and Randolph Johnson's sculpture studio
